Founded in Paris in 1952 by Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion, Chloé is a renowned French luxury fashion house. The brand’s very first fragrance was the iconic, eponymous Chloé (Parfums Chloé), launched in 1975 under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld. It was a rich, floral fragrance featuring notes of aldehydes, peach, tuberose, narcissus, and oakmoss.
While the original 1975 formulation has been discontinued, it was replaced by the modern eau de parfum found on the market today, which launched in 2008. In this article, I’ve highlighted that reformulated version alongside several other floral Chloé perfumes. Additionally, to showcase the brand’s versatility, I have included two woody women’s fragrances from a house traditionally known for its florals.
1. Chloe EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Chloe |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Floral |
| Notes | Top: Peony, Litchi, and Freesia Middle: Rose, Lily-of-the-Valley, and Magnolia Base: Virginia Cedar and Amber |
| Release year | 2008 |
| Perfumer | Amandine Clerc-Marie and Michel Almairac |
The reformulation was created to be a departure from the heady tuberose of the original fragrance. Chloé Eau de Parfum is light and fresh with a sensual undertone. Looking at it from a modern perspective, Chloé seems like an ultra-feminine, almost basic fragrance. But when it came out in 2008, it was unlike the popular florals at the time that appeared more demure, making it feel almost like a rebellion.
2. Love Story EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Chloe |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Floral |
| Notes | Top: Neroli, Pear, Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Lemon Middle: Orange Blossom, Stephanotis, Rose, Peach, and Black Currant Base: Musk, Cedar, Cashmirwood, and Patchouli |
| Release year | 2014 |
| Perfumer | Anne Flipo |
Following in the footsteps of that fresh, modern femininity is Chloé Love Story. As the name suggests, this fragrance is deeply romantic and was inspired by the famous Pont des Arts bridge in Paris. In fact, the bottle is designed to mimic the shape of one of those padlocks. Love Story is a luminous white floral. Featuring stephanotis, a jasmine often used in wedding bouquets.
3. Rose Naturelle Intense EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Chloe |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Floral |
| Notes | Top: Neroli and Bergamot Middle: Rose and Oak Tree Base: Sandalwood and Cedar |
| Release year | 2022 |
| Perfumer | Alexis Dadier |
Chloé Rose Naturelle Intense offers a more full-bodied, deeper take on the brand’s floral DNA. While it is still a floral fragrance at its core, it leans warm and woody. The beloved rose remains, but it is anchored by notes of cedar and sandalwood. The result is a richer, more organic scent, acting as a perfect bridge between the classic florals and the deeper scents on this list.
4. Nomade Jardin D’Egypte

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Chloe |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Amber Woody |
| Notes | Top: Papyrus Middle: Kyphi, Dates, Fig, Myrrh, and Cinnamon Base: Ambrette and Sandalwood |
| Release year | 2025 |
| Perfumer | Caroline Dumur |
Stepping away from the delicate florals, we have Nomade Jardin D’Egypte. This amber woody fragrance is a nod to the Egyptian heritage of Chloé’s founder, Gaby Aghion. It brings a rich warmth and a sense of wanderlust that feels completely different from the classic, ultra-feminine Chloé rose, making it a standout for anyone looking for something a bit warmer and bolder.
5. Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus Intense EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Chloe |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Woody |
| Notes | Top: Bergamot and Green Notes Middle: Leather Base: Australian Sandalwood, Chinese Cedar, Vetiver, and Amber |

Finally, rounding out the woody category is Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus Intense. Coming from the brand’s exclusive boutique collection, this is a true woody fragrance through and through. Built around the aroma of cedarwood, it offers an earthy depth with a musky finish. It proves that even a house famous for its light, romantic florals knows how to craft a masterfully rich, woody perfume that is just as luxurious.
