The world of fragrances keeps on surprising me, especially when I come to write a “Today in Bizarre” article. Each time I think to myself, “I had just found the weirdest note to be added to fragrances,” something stranger pops up and proves me wrong.
Some of these fragrances weren’t wearable, but some were surprisingly wearable. I, for one, never thought anyone would want a fragrance with a goat hair note. But I stand corrected. The four fragrances I’m going to discuss in this article all feature a goat hair note and are all wearable.
I wonder how the perfumers convinced these companies to allow them to add these notes to their perfumes. They must have REALLY trusted the process.
Note: the goat hair note in these fragrances is goat hair tincture. A tincture is a solution typically made by dissolving the material (goat hair) in a solvent, most commonly ethanol, creating a concentrated liquid of said material.

Yafoooh by Saeed Alqarni is a Saudi brand that strives to be unique amidst an ever-growing Middle Eastern fragrance market. Of course, they’re gonna have a fragrance that contains goat hair, and of course, they’re gonna make it smell good.
This amber unisex fragrance is spicy, smoky, woody, and animalic (are we surprised?) It is best worn in the winter due to its warm and rich nature. I find this to be a very interesting fragrance because it doesn’t only feature a goat hair note, but other strange notes as well, such as castoreum and gunpowder, yet smells absolutely amazing.

This extrait de parfum is a musky ode to freedom and empowerment through pleasure. This scent is so unique and fun, it makes the perfect everyday fragrance.

Of course, I was gonna include a fragrance here that is not wearable. The warning is in this name. This is NOT a perfume. While it smells phenomenal, this spicy amber scent is too potent for the skin and can cause harm.
NOT a perfume relies heavily on natural ingredients, and its fragrances are made of heavily concentrated oils. How can you apply this scent then? It is suggested that you wear it on a piece of cloth, like a handkerchief, in a pomander, or in a scent locket.
