What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “marshmallow.”
I usually think of fluffy, yummy puffiness. I see images of s’mores with melted chocolate dripping from the sides. I can feel the marshmallows melting in my mouth and taste their smooth and sweet flavor.
I’m guessing many think of these things when they think of this sweet treat. If just thinking of marshmallows can trigger all these senses, imagine actually smelling the marshmallows.
With the rise of the gourmand fragrance trend, marshmallows are becoming a sought-after note in scents as a fantasy note. While I see many brands hopping on this trend in the near future, some have already ventured into marshmallow territory long ago.
Some of my favorite fragrances carry this sweet and luscious note, including the following.
1. Kilian Princess Rose De Mai EDP

Kilian is a brand that has always been innovative and unique in their perfume creations. I don’t think I’ve ever smelt any fragrance by this brand and thought to myself, “Oh, this is basic.” On the contrary, I have always been blown away (not always in a good way).
That being said, I Don’t Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess – Rose de Mai is one of my favorite luxury fragrances that perfectly balances sweetness and elegance. Every single note stands out, from the ginger, the roses, the marshmallow, and the matcha note. I recommend this fragrance for special occasions and date nights.
2. D&G Pour Femme EDP

Dolce & Gabbana launched their first perfume, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme, in 1992, followed by its male equivalent, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, in 1994. In 2012, the designers decided to “return to the roots” and to re-launch the two fragrances.
The Pour Femme version kept its floral roots but took a turn to the sweeter side of things. Following the vanilla note trend of the times, this floral was elevated with a base of sweet marshmallow, vanilla, sandalwood, and heliotrope.
3. Parfums de Marly Oriana EDP

Highlights | Details |
---|---|
Brand | Parfums de Marly |
Best for | Women |
Fragrance Family | Floral Fruity Gourmand |
Notes | Top: Mandarin Orange, Bergamot, and Grapefruit Middle: Orange Blossom, Raspberry, and Black Currant Base: Whipped Cream, Marshmallow, Musk, and Ambrette |
Release year | 2021 |
Longevity | Over 8 hours |

Perfumer | Nathalie Lorson and Hamid Merati-Kashani |
Oriana by Parfums de Marly is their most robust, fun scent, in my humble opinion. As a brand that is known for its infamous clean girl scents like Delina and Valaya, I wouldn’t expect Parfums de Marly to create something catered to a completely different flavor palette than their usual clean, floral, and sophisticated aromas.
Oriana is a yummy women’s scent with many fruity notes accompanied by whipped cream, marshmallow, musk, and ambrette. It is very daring and extremely delicious. If you pick up this fragrance today, make sure you’re wearing something pink with it (the brighter, the better).
4. Pepe Jeans London Pepe Jeans for Her EDP

Pepe Jeans London’s Pepe Jeans for Her is a lactonic, boozy, mature kind of gourmand. It is sweet, it is sensual, it is fun, and it is grounded. Pepe Jeans for Her is versatile and perfectly balanced, and it is ideal for almost all occasions, weather, and times of day.
What I find most appealing about this perfume is the glass shape. This fragrance comes in a unique pink martini glass-shaped bottle that would elevate any vanity that it’s added to.
5. Roberto Cavalli Just Cavalli Gold EDP

Last but not least, Just Cavalli Gold by Roberto Cavalli. If you’re looking for a vanilla-centric sweet fragrance, this is the one for you. Just Gold for her is a nutty, warm winter fragrance for women with hints of leather.
Just Cavalli Gold gets its sweetness from notes of marshmallow, soft jasmine, and hazelnut. These notes blend beautifully with the orange, leather, rosewood, and orris root, which lends a powdery aroma reminiscent of suede.
