I was out in a mall with a couple of friends when we passed by a perfume stand. A purple-colored bottle caught my attention. It was Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia. That was when I was first introduced to these fragrances, and to this day, Gorgeous Magnolia remains one of my favorite fragrances.
Gucci has recently added a new member to the Flora collection. Flora Gorgeous Orchid is the latest addition to the floral family, making it the fourth fragrance in this collection available in the market. The original Gucci Flora was launched in 2010 and has since been discontinued.
As for the rest of the line, it has been upgraded and revamped over the years, with Miley Cirus as the face of the line. The packaging has also changed from the classic bottles to a modern and fresh design. Apart from the Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid, the line consists of the following fragrances: Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine, and Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine. Each one of these fragrances has a floral combination that is unique to it, making it more likely for anyone to find the one that aligns with their fragrance preferences.

The first true gourmand fragrance in the Gucci Flora line is Gorgeous Orchid. The overall scent is sweet and delicious, with a vanilla note and a vanilla orchid note in the heart. The ozonic dry-down helps tone down the sweetness, adding a fresh layer to the scent.
I have yet to try the perfume myself, but it might be the next victim of our Hit or Miss series. But I have a feeling that I’ll like it, considering that vanilla gourmand fragrances are my favorite fragrance family.

Gorgeous Magnolia was the fragrance that introduced me to the Gucci Flora line as I stumbled upon it on a trip to the mall the previous year. It had just recently been put on display, and I fell in love the instant I smelt it.
The magnolia note in the heart is the star here, obviously. But this fragrance stands out in this line with its warm, woody base, especially the patchouli note, which gives this fragrance a comforting aura and adds to its longevity.

Gorgeous Jasmine was the second launch from the Gucci Flora line. With two Jasmine notes in the heart of this perfume, you would think you were walking down the streets of Damascus in spring.
The floral notes in the heart are complimented with fresh notes of citrus and spice in the opening and warm woody notes in the base, creating a well-balanced fragrance.

Out of the three that I have tried from this line, this is the second favorite. Gorgeous Gardenia is a fresh floral scent with a hint of sweetness from the fruits in the opening. While this is a beautiful and unique scent that performs well, that is not why I like it.
Back home, we had a small gardenia plant in our house’s garden. Every year, when the gardenia is in bloom, the smell envelopes the garden, especially at night. One whiff of this perfume takes me back to the place I call home.
