Refreshing |
I consulted some of the perfume experts at V Perfumes, and this was their opinion on this fragrance. As you can see in the table above, many said it was a fresh, long-lasting, feminine summer perfume.
But some of them were concerned that they wouldn’t be able to recommend it for day use since it might be overpowering to some and a tad bit too warm. Therefore, it would be better worn as an evening perfume. I tried Maniere myself to see if they were right. Keep on reading to learn what I discovered.
Methodology
I got my hands on Maniere and tried it on around 11 a.m., and I let it set. I observed how it changed through the day and how well it projected and stayed.
Although it was still there when 3 p.m. struck, I decided to reapply it anyway to see how another layer of this fragrance would affect the overall scent. I also went outside wearing it to see how it would react to the Dubai afternoon heat.

Result
When I first sprayed this fragrance, I could clearly smell a beautiful, fresh scent. The most dominant note at the opening was the orange blossom, which I noticed right away. My co-workers also commented on that. I tried this at work around 11 am, and almost everyone in my department asked what that lovely smell was!
I observed this Iris de Perla fragrance as it set and dried down. The smell it gave off was still heavenly. I could start smelling the florals at that point, and some of the vanilla and musk were starting to come out.
Around 3, I resprayed, although the scent was still prominent. I wanted to see how it would react if I reintroduced the first notes to the perfume once it had dried down. The result was a lovely, stronger, more opulent scent.

Then, I went outside to see how it would react to the heat. I noticed the perfume warm up on me and realized right away that the experts were right about it not being suitable for daytime wear, especially not in summer. As for those who said it was too sweet, I can confidently say that it wasn’t, and you wouldn’t find it so unless you prefer dry perfumes.
If you’re wondering if this is a seasonal fragrance or a versatile one, I would say it falls somewhere in between, as it is suitable for all seasons but works better at a certain time of day (nighttime).
Final Verdict – I Loved It
In conclusion, this scent is a HIT! I recommend it for evening wear, not just in summer and spring, but all year round. I also believe that it would make an excellent date-night fragrance due to its feminine accords and sensual nature.
