Hit or Miss is our new article series in which we review a perfume and tell you if it is a hit or a miss. The first victim of this test is Aventus for her, by Creed.
Creed Aventus Eau De Parfum For Women

After its launch in 2010, Creed Aventus for men saw huge success, so for its 250th anniversary in 2016, Creed launched the feminine version of the same fragrance.
“Empowering, confident, mesmerizing and irresistible fruity – fresh perfume” was what this fragrance was announced as. It is described as fruity, fresh, and perfect for a spring or summer day. So, I decided to put it to the test.

I created a poll to ask the perfume experts at V Perfumes what they think of this best-selling fragrance. As you can see, according to them, the cons outweigh the pros. But that didn’t stop me from trying the perfume for myself to form an informed opinion on it.
Methodology

I tried the perfume at work in the morning and let it sit. I sprayed it how I usually spray my perfume: on my neck, on both sides, on my inner wrists, inner elbows, and a couple of sprays all over. I kept smelling my wrists and shirt every now and then to see if it was still there and how it was doing.
Result
It would be unfair to say that I absolutely hated this perfume because I didn’t. I can’t say I loved it either. When I first sprayed it, the high alcohol content bothered me, but I’m willing to overlook that, considering the alcohol flies away really quickly. That happened in seconds, and I was left with a fresh, citrus, green scent.
This perfume smelled like freshly cut grass for the first few minutes before the citrus kicked in, and almost right away, the violet showed up as well. The violet gave this perfume a softness that it desperately needed. The patchouli note in the opening really threw me off because patchouli is normally used in the base. It was really fighting for its life up there.
Once it dried down, it started to smell more familiar, like a scent I’ve smelled in so many mainstream perfumes before. This was disappointing for a brand like Creed. With the price point of this perfume, I would have expected something a little more unique.
It did last a while, though, but it was very faint. It is to be expected from long-lasting perfumes to be faint, but it is not nearly as long-lasting as the men’s version.
Final Verdict
For me, this perfume is a miss. That is not to say you won’t love it since perfumes react differently to everyone’s skin pH levels. Visit a V Perfumes store near you and try out Aventus Creed and many other perfumes, and share your opinion with us by reviewing the perfume on V Perfumes.
