Pantone refers to the Pantone Matching System, a color reproduction system used in design. Each color in this system is identified by a number assigned to it. The Pantone Color Matching System provides over 1,000 colors, and Pantone Connect provides exclusive access to over 15,000 Pantone Colors. Twice a year, Pantone hosts a secret meeting for two days of presentations and debate to choose the following year’s color of the year. The selection of this color also includes year-round research on macro-level color trend forecasting around the world. The selected color sets the trend for the design and printing, fashion, and beauty industries, influencing color choices and aesthetics in design and style.
The following colors were selected for the previous three years:
2021:
Illuminating – 13-0647 TCX

Ultimate Grey – 17-5104 TCX

2022:
Very Peri – 17-3938 TCX

2023:
Viva Magenta – 18-1750 TCX

2024, the year of tenderness and healing, is marked by the selection of a significant Pantone Color, Peach Fuzz – 13-1023. Peach fuzz is a velvet peach hue that portrays the softness of pink and the warmth of orange. This color also reflects the shift happening in the world of design towards soft pastels. A cleaner and fresher version of the once much-loved Millennial Pink, Peach Fuzz looks like it could be Millennial Pink’s and Burnt Sienna’s love child.
“In 2023, we celebrated coming out of the malaise of the last year. We feel that next year, with so much whirling in the atmosphere around us, there will be a need for some quiet, some peace, some respite, and that’s what that Peach Fuzz will be for us.”
–Leatrice Eiseman, executive director, Pantone Color Institute.

Peach Fuzz in Makeup
2017 was the year of peach makeup, with the release of Too Faced’s Sweet Peach palette, which came out in the summer of 2016. Later, Kylie Cosmetics launched its Royal Peach palette, other brands followed suit, and peach makeup became the trend. The peach makeup trend we witnessed then involved a cool-toned soft pink. As for 2024, we will be seeing the rebirth of the peach makeup trend with a warmer hue of peach, Peach Fuzz.

Peach Fuzz in Fashion
While peach is generally perceived as a feminine color, we have been seeing it incorporated more into men’s fashion as well. The warmth of Peach Fuzz gives it a bit of ambiguity, allowing it to be a suitable addition to anyone’s wardrobe regardless of age, gender, and taste.

Peach Fuzz in Decor
Earlier this year, we saw the color Red trying to sneak into home decor, with influencers claiming that this bold color could elevate the glamour factor in our homes. Pantone’s Color of 2024 is quite the opposite of what red represents. Instead of boldness, it gives us softness. Instead of glamor, it gives us quiet luxury, and instead of passion, it gives us peace.
Keep your home smelling fresh with these home fragrances.

Luckily, Peach Fuzz is an easy color to work with. Since it goes with many other colors, it will be easy to incorporate in our clothes, makeup, home decor, and anywhere else we would like to add it. Here are some examples of color combinations that match perfectly with Peach Fuzz:
