As a certified gourmand lover, I was thrilled when I first learned about this collection. Three ice-pop-inspired fragrances for the summer? Where do I sign up?! To my surprise (and disappointment), none of these fragrances feature a vanilla note. I get that not every gourmand needs to rely on vanilla, but couldn’t DKNY have given us just one vanilla ice pop?
Now, let’s focus on what we actually got from the Be Delicious Ice Pop collection: Cherry, citrus, and berry. Are they good? Let’s find out.

Let’s start with Very Cherry, a cherry-forward freshie. It’s a good, affordable fragrance, but it feels like something is lacking. (Ahem, vanilla…) Jokes aside, this fragrance could have been so much more. The cherry, I fear, just isn’t as strong as it needs to be. I get that it’s a summer scent, but the marketing was giving “bright and out there.” Perhaps this fragrance was meant for layering, or it was just aiming for a cleaner scent profile than the packaging implied.

Citrus Splash isn’t as deceptive, though. It delivers exactly what you’d expect: a fun, sweet, and refreshing citrus aroma, and I love it. I can easily see how this makes a perfect summer scent. It has all the juicy goodness of a classic summer perfume, followed by a sweet, gourmand drydown that keeps you coming back for more. It isn’t incredibly strong, but that is to be expected from a citrus scent, so I’ll give it a pass.

I fully expected Berry Bliss to be my favourite, and I was almost right. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Citrus Splash just a bit more (but only slightly). Berry Bliss is a tropical-leaning fragrance with notes of mango and coconut. I’m still not completely sold on the coconut and cotton candy combo. Sometimes I love it, while other times it just feels a bit weird to me. Overall, though, this fragrance is definitely a winner.
