In case you were wondering, no, these perfumes won’t leave you smelling like you just spent the night at a bar. While brands offer varying degrees of realism in their boozy perfumes, none of these fragrances smell like straight-up alcohol (which is usually a bad sign anyway). Instead, boozy notes are cleverly incorporated into fragrances to impart a warm, sophisticated aroma (whiskey and rum), a sparkling fizziness (champagne), or a crisp, chilling effect (vodka), depending on the chosen spirit.
These aren’t the only boozy notes you’ll find, either. Many fragrance houses get creative by featuring highly specific variations of these spirits, or even introducing complex cocktail accords. Here are some of our favourite boozy perfumes. We hope you find one or two that pique your interest.
1. Kilian Vodka On The Rocks EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Kilian |
| Best for | Unisex |
| Fragrance Family | Aromatic |
| Notes | Top: Aldehydes, Coriander, and Cardamom Middle: Rhubarb, Lily-of-the-Valley, and Pink Rose Base: Ambroxan, oak moss, and Sandalwood |
| Release year | 2014 |
| Perfumer | Sidonie Lancesseur |
I wanted to start this list with a Kilian, but I debated whether to feature Vodka on the Rocks or the widely popular Angels’ Share. I ultimately opted for the former. While both fragrances are undeniably boozy, Vodka on the Rocks is crisper, cooler, and much more refreshing. Whereas Angels’ Share and its flankers lean into a warm, cozy, cognac-based profile, this fragrance, true to its name, is vodka-based. It’s the perfect “on the rocks” scent to cool you down on a hot summer night.
2. Escada Brisa Cubana EDT

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Escada |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Citrus |
| Notes | Top: Lime and Mojito Middle: Mint Base: Mariposa Lily |
| Release year | 2024 |
| Perfumer | In-house Perfumer |
Another summer standout on our boozy list, Escada’s Brisa Cubana features a cold, fun mojito note accompanied by mint and mariposa lilies. This scent truly feels like going on vacation. The lime is quite strong in this one, which might pull a bit harsh on some, but it is a citrus fragrance, after all. It is also highly layerable, pairing beautifully with other summer profiles like aquatic or coconut-based perfumes.
3. Lolita Lempicka LolitaLand EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Lolita Lempicka |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Floral Fruity |
| Notes | Top: Bellini, Orange, Italian Mandarin, Pepper, Lemon, Grapefruit, and Lime Middle: White Peach, Plum, Black Currant, Jasmine Sambac, Jasmine, Magnolia, and Rose Base: Madagascar Vanilla, liquorice, Benzoin, White Musk, and Sandalwood |
| Release year | 2018 |
| Perfumer | Francis Kurkdjian and Maïa Lernout |
Moving on to a sweeter option, Lolita Lempicka’s LolitaLand features a fun top note of Bellini, a classic Italian cocktail made by mixing sparkling wine (typically Prosecco) with fresh white peach purée. Ideal as a daytime perfume for the colder months, LolitaLand is perfect for fall and winter wear thanks to its juicy heart and warm, sweet base.
4. Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Viktor & Rolf |
| Best for | Men |
| Fragrance Family | Amber Spicy |
| Notes | This fragrance features Vanilla, Tobacco, Cinnamon, Cumin, Bourbon Whiskey, and Saffron |
| Release year | 2015 |
| Perfumer | Carlos Benaïm and Jean-Christophe Hérault |
Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor&Rolf is exactly that, a total spice bomb. The cinnamon, cumin, and saffron give this fragrance a fiercely spice-forward aroma that cannot be ignored. The boozy element here comes across as a rich bourbon whiskey, which is beautifully sweetened by a vanilla note. To give it even more of an edge, the fragrance carries a tobacco accord. I can see how this might be overpowering for some, but I believe it’s a phenomenal winter fragrance for when you truly want to stand out.
5. Penhaligon’s The Tragedy of Lord George EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Penhaligon’s |
| Best for | Men |
| Fragrance Family | Amber |
| Notes | This fragrance features Woodsy Notes, Brandy, Amber and Tonka Bean |
| Release year | 2016 |
| Perfumer | Alberto Morillas |
Lastly, we have Penhaligon’s The Tragedy of Lord George, a brandy-based boozy scent that is perfect for autumn. The mix of rich brandy, amber accords, tonka bean, and woody notes instantly makes me think of fall. It could be the comforting warmth or the subtle nostalgia this fragrance emits that feels so heavily tied to the season. Either way, it is a stunning choice.
