Black Orchid by Tom Ford was first introduced and marketed as a women’s fragrance. But as it became more popular among men, it had become sold as a unisex scent. The first Tom Ford fragrance remains one of the most popular fragrances by the brand to this day and the most loved.
This amber floral is intriguing from opening to base. It surely isn’t for lovers of lighter scents. Florals that are normally found in the heart to balance the scent are found here in the opening as well to balance the rich notes of truffle and black currant. The heart is a bouquet of elegance and softness, and the base is deep with notes of dark chocolate, patchouli, vanilla, incense, amber, sandalwood, vetiver, and white musk. This luxury fragrance is best worn in winter.

Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford is a delicious harmony of floral and citrus notes. Named after the Portofino village of Italy, a fishing village and holiday resort famous for its harbor. Neroli is an oil extracted from the bitter orange tree and has a sweet, honeyed scent that is somewhat metallic and spicy, reminiscent of the town’s marina.
The opening citrus is joined by notes of rosemary, lavender, and myrtle, giving a woody, resinous scent that is also soft and delicate. The heart is of pittosporum (a Japanese plant very similar to jasmine), jasmine, neroli, and African orange flower (orange blossom). The base is made of amber, angelica, and ambrette. This scent is the ideal daytime summer scent.

Tobacco Vanille is a tricky one, but I couldn’t not add it to this list. Tom Ford knew what he was doing when he put out this intoxicating scent. That’s the best way I could describe this scent, intoxicating. I stated that this is a tricky one because you either love this scent or absolutely hate it. There is no in-between.
The tobacco leaf and spice come of strong in the opening. The vanilla, cacao, tonka bean, and tobacco blossom notes in the heart is where the scent starts to get a bit sweeter and softer. The dried fruits and woody notes in the base continue this theme of sweet grounded aroma that accompanies us with this long-lasting fragrance.

Lost Cherry by Tom Ford is one of my top three fragrances by Tom Ford along with Tobacco Vanille and Bitter Peach. So you could say I left the best for last. This delicious gourmand scent is part of Tom Ford’s cherry collection. It was the first to come out in that collection, which consists of Lost Cherry, Electric Chery, and Cherry Smoke.
This scent opens with bitter almond, black cherry, and cherry liqueur, which gives off a yummy, sweet, and sour aroma. The heart is luscious and fresh with sour cherry, plum, Turkish rose, and jasmine sambac notes. The base is sweet, warm, majestic, and balsamic with notes of vanilla, tonka bean, cinnamon, Peru balsam, benzoin, sandalwood, cloves, cedar, patchouli, and vetiver. If you’re looking for a fun and sweet scent that is elegant and sophisticated at the same time, this is the ideal perfume for you.
