Sometimes one perfume just isn’t enough, and other times a fragrance just doesn’t smell all that good on its own. I have bought so many scents that I wouldn’t have touched if I hadn’t gotten the idea of wearing them with other scents. This could happen to anyone, especially if the perfume was a blind buy or a gift.
But what goes with what? Worry not, in this article, I’ll be telling you which fragrances go well together. It’s all about layering the right notes.
1. Similar Scents
The first and most obvious choice would be to layer similar scents. This is done when you like a specific fragrance family and want to amplify the scent it evokes. Eclaire by Lattafa, for example, is a gourmand scent that goes well with other sweet vanilla scents.

Another example of layering similar scents is picking up a fragrance and layering it with a different perfume concentration or intensity of the same perfume. Like wearing an EDT version with the parfum version, or the EDP with the intense or elixir version.
2. Opposites Attract
Another approach you can take to layering scents is mixing opposite scents, specifically, complex scents with simple scents. You can take Eclaire, a simple sweet gourmand scent, and layer it with whatever you want. You can wear it every day and layer it with a completely different scent for a different vibe. However, if sweet scents aren’t your thing, you can opt for a clean scent like Carolina Herrera 212 (available in both male & female versions), Guess 1981, or its various iterations, or any Jo Malone scent.
My favorite clean scent for layering would be Everyone by Calvin Klein. It is the perfect everyday scent, especially in the summertime. However, you can transform it into anything you want by layering it with any other complex scent due to its clean, fresh, and crisp nature.

3. Go Extreme
The final obvious option is to go all out. Picking two beast mode scents will make you noticeable the moment you walk into any room. If this is the pairing you’re going for, you truly are bold. These two Tom Ford scents fit that description.
