Inspired by the Greek God of love, Eros is a fragrance popular among men who tend to be somewhat flirtatious. This isn’t just due to the name of the perfumes, of course. Eros is generally sensual and an objectively attractive scent.
The first-ever Eros was released in 2012 as an eau de toilette, and it is very fitting of its time. The opening is fun and slightly lemony, and the drydown is sweet, with a note of vanilla. I personally prefer the eau de parfum version of this perfume, but a few other flankers are also available for Eros. Therefore, you might eventually find one of them to your liking.

Starting with the OG, Eros was launched with “the aim to reveal and release unrestrained passion and to accentuate desire.” Just like Eros, the God of Love. Taking inspiration from Greek mythology is nothing new to the Versace brand, as its logo is inspired by the legend of Medusa, and is at the core of the brand’s identity.
Back to the perfume, now let me tell you, this men’s fragrance is loved by the ladies (speaking as a lady myself). If you’re looking for a men’s fragrance for a night out or a date, you can’t go wrong with Versace Eros. Because this is an EDT, it tends to have a higher projection; therefore, people will be able to detect your scent.
2. Versace Eros Flame EDP

The second Eros to emerge was Flame, which represents a slight departure from the original. Eros Flame is an interpretation of passionate love. Think of the song “Do I Wanna Know” by the Arctic Monkeys. Eros Flame would be the Hozeir cover of that song.
This is another excellent date-night fragrance, but more of a date with your long-term partner rather than a first date scent. If you wear this, you will be walking around smelling like orange, spice, and vanilla. You’ll also be getting loads of compliments.
3. Versace Eros EDP

The EDP version of Eros is one that I instantly fell in love with, and I even got a bottle for my partner. It is a fun fragrance with a sweet dry-down, which I love. The EDP also tends to have a more summer-vibe scent to me.
Out of all the fragrances, it is the most versatile, which can work in most seasons and for all occasions. One other advantage it has over the EDT is that it lasts longer. It also has a more sensual edge over the original fougere. I might be biased in my description here; therefore, I recommend you go try it for yourself and decide.
4. Versace Eros Parfum

Highlights | Details |
---|---|
Brand | Versace |
Best for | Men |
Fragrance Family | Amber Fougere |
Notes | Top: Mint, Lemon, Black Pepper, Elemi, and Litsea Cubeba Middle: Green Apple, Geranium, Lavender, Sage, and Pomarose Base: Tonka Bean, Amber, Vanilla, Patchouli, and Benzoin |
Release year | 2021 |
Projection | Low |
Perfumer | Versace |
What about the Parfum? Is it not sensual, versatile, and even more long-lasting? Yes, of course it is. But as I stated earlier, I am biased toward my favorites. Besides, I find this version of Eros to be more mature, making it less suitable for day-to-day wear.
Since it is a parfum, it projects less due to the fragrance’s high concentration, allowing it to sit closer to the skin. If you’re looking for depth and complexity, you might just find it in this version of Eros.
5. Versace Eros Najim Parfum

Highlights | Details |
---|---|
Brand | Versace |
Best for | Men |
Fragrance Family | Amber Woody |
Notes | Top: Caramel and Italian Mandarin Middle: Cardamom and Oud Base: Incense, Patchouli, and Vetiver |
Release year | 2024 |
Projection | Moderate |
Perfumer | Olivier Pescheux |
It pains me to say it, but I do not like Najim. Do I like caramel as a note? Yes. Am I absolutely in love with oud? Yes. Am I naturally drawn to patchouli fragrances? Also, yes! But I did not enjoy how these notes are blended in this Eros flanker.
Someone said to me that this is a softer version of Stronger With You Oud by Armani, but I strongly disagree. I love that Stronger With You flanker; this just doesn’t do it for me. The note combination is off, and the cardamom is too prominent for my liking. But as I always say: Try it for yourself! You might love it.
6. Versace Eros Energy EDP

Last but not least, a lemon-blast! Eros Energy is an amazing summer scent. It is the perfume that you would take with you on vacation during summer break. You can wear this for brunch with your friends or to an outdoor summer/spring wedding you’re invited to (or a December wedding in Dubai, iykyk).
If solar notes weren’t a thing, this is what I would assume the sun smells like. I just wish it lasted longer. But alas, most citrus-heavy fragrances don’t. Otherwise, this is a lovely rendition of Eros (not as sensual as the others, though).
