The Italian Mandarin note is tangy, fresh, and joyful—the scent we’re supposed to get with this summer fragrance’s opening. The gardenia note at the heart complements the citrusy opening. It is zesty, sweet, and slightly creamy.
The base of this edition of Born in Roma is Coco, a chocolatey, warm note. This note grounds this perfume, gives it warmth, and extends its longevity.

The top notes in the Uomo version of this Valentino fragrance are spices, which are completely different from the citrus notes we see in the Donna version. The spices here are cold spices, though, which suit the summer theme of these scents.
The middle note is Virginia cedar. This note softens the sharpness of the fragrance with a woody and smooth scent. The amber scent at the base is a blend of warm, powdery, sweet scents. Paired with the vanilla, the base of this perfume is warm and sweet.
