Selena Gomez’s brand, Rare Beauty, has launched a new fragrance, and it’s one of the best celebrity perfumes that has come out in a while. Overall, we have been seeing amazing products emerge from women-owned celebrity brands that have truly changed the game. Rare Beauty is no exception.
By the end of last year (2024), Rare Beauty launched the Awaken Confidence collection, which included a body cream and a body & hair fragrance. That collection was vibrant, fun, and uplifting. I was expecting the next fragrance the brand launches to be just as summary and bright, but I was wrong.

Rare by Rare Beauty smells quite sweet, and that isn’t surprising. With notes like caramel, pistachio, vanilla, cocoa, and tonka bean, the sweetness is expected. But these notes aren’t all this eau de parfum is made of. This is why this fragrance is the dream take on gourmands for adults.
The delicious notes shine and are definitely not hidden in Rare, but they are balanced out and complemented by the warmer notes. These notes include spices like pink pepper and ginger, and creamier notes like sandalwood, musk, and tonka bean (which is also slightly sweet). These warmer, more “mature” notes don’t hide the sweetness of Rare, but complement it, and that is my favorite thing about this new perfume.
I would recommend this cosy scent for daytime winter wear. As it is perfect for that. It makes a beautiful skin scent when it dries down and isn’t overpowering or overwhelming. So if you’re looking for a beast-mood type of perfume ,where everyone can smell you. This ain’t it.
