Have you ever looked at a fragrance bottle and thought to yourself, “Wow, this is gonna look gorgeous on my dresser”? Liar… I know you had.
Well, to be completely honest, I have. Many times. Just to be clear, though, I won’t buy a fragrance if I don’t like the scent inside, no matter how gorgeous the packaging is. But I absolutely preferred certain fragrances over others that were pretty similar or fell into the same category, purely because the bottles were nicer. Heck, I’ve even refused to repurchase some fragrances that I loved because the packaging was inconvenient or unsightly. That being said, I will mention fragrances that weren’t to my liking with pretty packaging that others might like.
PS: I picked these bottles based on my personal preferences. Feel free to agree or disagree in the comments.

The House of Oud perfume bottles are hand-painted collectables and are considered works of art. Live in Colours happens to be my favourite out of the bunch. I mean, look at that vibrant, beautiful red and green wrapping around the bottle to create a gorgeous malachite effect. It also helps that the bottle carries a beautiful woody aromatic fragrance inside.
2. Alexandre.J The Majestic Vanilla EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Alexandre.J |
| Best for | Unisex |
| Fragrance Family | Amber Vanilla |
| Notes | Top: Cinnamon, Mandarin Orange, and Bergamot Middle: Galbanum, Tonka Bean, and Peach Base: Labdanum, Vanilla, Amberwood, Patchouli, and Musk |
| Release year | 2020 |
| Projection | Moderate |

Alexandre.J blends inspiration from historical art movements, diverse cultures, and travel into luxurious, handcrafted objects. The bottle of The Majestic Vanilla draws inspiration from the 1920sart deco movement. The fragrance itself is a little too cinnamony for my taste, but if you don’t mind that, I see no reason why you shouldn’t add this beautiful baby blue masterpiece to your collection.
3. Vilhelm Parfumerie Dear Polly EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Vilhelm Parfumerie |

| Release year | 2015 |

Vilhelm Parfumerie’s packaging concept centres on creating a library of tales where each fragrance tells a unique, personal story or memory. The bottles are created to be recognised as they all carry a similar vintage-inspired design. Try these fragrances out and pick your favourite. If you like the bottle shape, that is, and if you enjoy dark tea scents, you’re in for a treat with Dear Polly.
4. Diptyque Orphéon EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Diptyque |
| Best for | Unisex |
| Fragrance Family | Woody Chypre |
| Notes | Top: Juniper Berries Middle: Jasmine Base: Powdery Notes, Cedar, and Tonka Bean |
| Release year | 2021 |
| Projection | Moderate |
| Perfumer | Olivier Pescheux |
Diptyque’s fragrance packaging, especially Orpheon’s bottle and those that resemble it, itches a part of my brain just right. Diptyque’s packaging incorporates several elements: an oval label inspired by ancient Roman battle shields and medallions, dancing letters typography referencing a founder’s code-breaking past, and hidden illustrations on the back of the label that relate to each fragrance’s story. The design might seem simple at first, but when you pay attention to the details, you discover so much.
5. Lattafa Ajwad EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Lattafa |
| Best for | Unisex |
| Fragrance Family | Woody Aromatic |
| Notes | Top: Fruity Notes Middle: Rose and Jasmine Base: Vanilla, Musk, Amber and Cedar |
| Release year | 2021 |
| Projection | Moderate |
| Perfumer | Lattafa |
The top reason I bought Ajwad by Lattafa is the adorable bottle. The colours and design got me, because if I’m being honest, the scent isn’t that special. It’s a pretty scent, don’t get me wrong, but what made it stand out from the many similar scents is the bottle. It also helps that this is an affordable option for a nice fragrance with a pretty bottle.
6. Burberry My Burberry EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Burberry |
| Best for | Women |
| Fragrance Family | Floral |
| Notes | Top: Sweet Pea, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Grapefruit, and Lemon Middle: Quince, Freesia, Geranium, Peach, Green Notes, Gardenia, and Passionfruit Base: Damask Rose, Rose, Patchouli, Musk, Leather, and Violet |
| Release year | 2014 |
| Projection | Moderate |
| Perfumer | Francis Kurkdjian |
Burberry My Burberry perfume packaging is a direct homage to the brand’s iconic trench coat and its rich British heritage. It is one of the cutest bottles I’ve seen, looking like a demure lady with its little beige fabric ribbon wrapped around its neck. The hand-tied bow around the neck of the bottle is made from the same English-woven gabardine fabric that founder Thomas Burberry invented over 100 years ago and is used to make the trench coats. The colour of the original Eau de Parfum is a warm honey-beige, a tint taken directly from the classic trench coat fabric.
7. Bvlgari Le Gemme Gyan EDP

| Highlights | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand | Bvlgari |
| Best for | Men |
| Fragrance Family | Amber Woody |
| Notes | Top: Incense Middle: Jasmine Sambac Base: Patchouli |
| Release year | 2016 |
| Projection | Moderate |
| Perfumer | Jacques Cavallier Belletrud |
The entire Le Gemme collection draws from rare and stunning gems found along the mythical Gems Road. The Gyan fragrance specifically is associated with the velvety blue sapphire from Kashmir and the idea of divine wisdom. The bottle design incorporates Bvlgari’s heritage and the architectural grandeur of Rome. The bottle’s structure is meant to be a modern, masculine interpretation of an ancient Roman obelisk, a shape that symbolises the fusion of earth and sky.
