From Plovdiv to the World
Miroslav Petkov has always had a passion for creating scents and was intrigued by the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of this art form. His journey in his hometown of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which he eventually left to pursue his dreams abroad. His journey first took him to Argentina, but within a year, he relocated to Spain, a move that proved to be a turning point in his career.
Crafting Formulas for Success
Petkov gained recognition for developing the formulas for the B9 and Soho perfumes for the American company Bond No. 9. Thus, he became the only Bulgarian in the exclusive circle of the world’s most successful perfumers. He also created nine additional successful perfume formulas for the Bond No. 9 Dubai Collection. These fragrances contributed to Bond No. 9’s opulent Dubai line.
A Global Presence

Currently, Petkov is associated with the Spanish company Iberchem, focusing on Middle Eastern markets. However, his work in the fragrance industry extends to clients worldwide, including the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Philosophy and Preferences
Petkov’s early experiences in the fragrance industry have shaped his creative preferences, particularly his fondness for the natural scents of spices and balsams. He believes that the ultimate measure of a perfume’s quality and success lies in public opinion, emphasising the importance of tailoring scents to specific markets.
Despite market demands influencing fragrance creation, Petkov values the freedom to experiment and explore new nuances. Understanding the diverse cultural attitudes toward fragrances, Petkov maintains the philosophy that “a good perfume is good everywhere”.

1. Xerjoff Cruz del Sur I EDP

Xerjoff’s Cruz del Sur I, launched in 2017, is a unisex fragrance with warm, spicy, and leathery main accords. This scent contains top notes of rum, grapes, and bergamot, with middle notes of dried fruits, cloves, cumin, cedar, and cinnamon. The base is composed of leather, castoreum, myrrh, incense, labdanum, sandalwood, and amber.
2. Nishane Fan Your Flames X Extrait De Parfum

Nishane’s Fan Your Flames X, launched in 2023, is a woody, sweet fragrance. Inspired by the quote “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames” by Rumi. The fragrance features top notes of coconut, rum, and mastic or lentisque; middle notes of tobacco, tonka bean, carrot, and thyme; and base notes of oakmoss, patchouli, and cedar. This fragrance is designed to soften the original scent with a gentle touch of tropical flavours.
3. Xerjoff Casamorati Dolce Amalfi EDP

Xerjoff’s Casamorati Dolce Amalfi is inspired by the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. This unisex fragrance has dominant spicy and sweet undertones. It features top notes of apple, saffron, quince, and cardamom. The middle notes include clove bud, incense, and tolu balsam, while the base notes offer vanilla, tonka bean, cedarwood, musk and amber.
