Happy New Year everyone! It’s a new year, and we’re all excited for the new fragrance releases coming out in 2025. All the signs point to a continuing growth in the gourmand trend that saw a significant rise last year.
Jean Paul Gaultier and Lancôme both released gourmand fragrances as their first launches of 2025, which only proves the factuality of that statement.
Jean Paul Gaultier released a scent that is floral fruity and another that is aromatic fruity. Lancôme, on their part, launched an amber vanilla version of La Nuit Trésor called La Nuit Trésor Vanille Noire. On the other hand, Le Labo came out with Eucalyptus 20, a woody aromatic unisex fragrance with a cleaner, deeper, more earthy aroma.

Starting the year strong with a true gourmand scent, Jean Paul Gaultier launched a flower edition fragrance of both Le Beau and La Belle. La Belle Flower Edition is a women’s fragrance that is a gorgeous fruity vanilla with a soft, powdery finish.
While this fragrance might not seem like anything extraordinary, I did notice in it a special quality that is almost lactonic, although there aren’t any milk notes anywhere in there. This could be an ideal everyday morning time scent for summer and spring. I can imagine myself wearing it for brunch or while getting a treat at my favorite coffee shop.

Le Beau Flower Edition is the men’s version of the same aforementioned fragrance by Jean Paul Gaultier. This aromatic, fruity men’s perfume is no less delicious than the women’s version of it.
The kumquat at the opening is fresh and bright, with nuances of orange zest and mandarin. The heart of violet leaf adds a green, cucumber-like freshness to the scent. The base of cashmeran is amber-like and velvety, adding richness and depth.

The original La Nuit Trésor by Lancôme, which was launched in 2015, was already a gourmand amber vanilla fragrance. There is a clear difference between the two, though.
The original is more of a fruity, sweet scent with accords of caramel, while the new version, Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Vanille Noire, gets its sweetness from vanilla and honey notes and has an overall warmer, more amber feel. This version feels more luxurious and sophisticated.

Le Labo isn’t a brand that is usually conventional with its fragrances. This is why I was a bit shocked when I read this fragrance’s main accords.
Keep in mind that this was the brand that created a matcha fragrance back in 2021. That being said, this unisex fragrance looks very promising with a clean, woody, aromatic aroma that is, in my opinion, suitable for everyday wear and falls in line with the trend of quiet luxury.
