Singular note fragrances, also known as soliflores (for florals) or solinotes, are perfumes built around one dominant ingredient (or note). With these types of fragrances, what you smell is what you get. The scent doesn’t drastically change as it dries down; that one dominant note will remain front and centre from the opening to the base. These fragrances are simple, linear, and reliable.
This predictability is what most people, myself included, love about these fragrances. It’s highly unlikely you will buy a singular note fragrance that you love at first sniff, only to end up disliking it after wearing it for a while. You can go for a strong note or a lighter one, and you can choose to keep the scent linear on its own, or layer it with another fragrance that you feel is lacking something. The sky is the limit.

I’m going to start with my favourite note. I have loved vanilla since I was a child, and that love has never faded. To this day, I find myself drawn to vanilla-dominant fragrances; so much so that I almost always feel as though fragrances without it are simply lacking.

Cuir
There is nothing quite like the sleek edge of a leather fragrance. For business meetings or any other more formal setting, I would always recommend leather. You can layer it with more playful scents to make it more fun as well.
