The annual celebration of Emirati Women’s Day is held on August 28th. This date has historical significance as it falls on the same day on which The General Women’s Union of the United Arab Emirates, the first women’s association, was founded by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. She also founded this day to monumentalize the achievements and progress made by Emirati women and to highlight their roles in preserving Emirati culture, all while embracing modernity as the country moved forward to a brighter, more glorious future.
The sage leadership of this country has crafted a path for women to strive here. This is why Emirati women and women from all over the globe are able to partake in various fields within the UAE today.
On this day, we at V Perfumes celebrate the great role that Emirati women have played in Emirati communities and their contributions to building the nation as leaders in both the workplace and in their homes. Therefore, on August 28th, 2024, we offer an extra 10% off on all our products in-store and online.
Emirati Women’s Day Theme
Each year, Emirati Women’s Day focuses on a different theme. Last year, the theme was “We Collaborate for Tomorrow,” aligning with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s announcement of 2023 as the “Year of Sustainability.”
“Every year, we proudly announce an inspiring theme for Emirati Women’s Day, and this national occasion is a priority for us. This day highlights a set of objectives which aligns with the country’s global leadership in recognizing and empowering women. The UAE has made gender balance an integral part of the nation’s social culture. This highlights the significance of collaboration between federal and local authorities, civil society, and the private sector to enhance the achievements in this area.” – Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
Although this year’s theme has yet to be announced, we are sure that it will be as unique and groundbreaking as the ones of the prior years. For this Emirati Women’s Day, we’ve prepared a special selection of the finest perfumes just for you. Take a moment to explore our curated collection.
Businesses Run By Emirati Women
As we celebrate Emirati women and their accomplishments, we would like to highlight their achievements, specifically in the beauty and lifestyle industry, by calling attention to the businesses they have successfully launched and run in this field.
1. Arcadia By Amna

A UAE-based fragrance brand launched in 2015 by Amna Al-Habtoor. Amna was born to work in the automobile business since her family ran and owned Al Habtoor Motors, but she switched gears from the automobile world into the perfumery world.
Arcadia by Amna offers unisex, sustainable, artisanal fragrances with nostalgia and memories as the main theme. These fragrances are available as perfumes, candles, and gift sets. If you’re looking to purchase new fragrances, why not do it while supporting a brand founded by an Emirati woman on this special day?
2. Shiffa Beauty

Shiffa Beauty by Dr. Lamees Hamdan is a natural skincare line that only focuses on cosmetic treatment. The journey started when Dr. Hamdan couldn’t find an organic skincare line that was safe and effective, so she created a pregnancy body oil, which is still one of her best-selling products to this date.
Since then, she has expanded her brand and shaken up Dubai’s beauty industry with innovative products.
3. 202 Gardenia Road

Inspired by traditional Arabic medicine and hygiene rituals, Hend Al Hashemi launched 202 Gardenia Road, a range of artistic handmade soaps with florals and natural ingredients.
Some of the ingredients used in this brand’s products include camel milk, olive oil, yogurt, caster oil, aloe vera, honey, black seed oil, and many more.
202 Gardenia Road offers all the self-care products you might need for a relaxing nighttime routine, including soaps, body butter, oils, bath salts, and scrubs.
4. Peacefull

Salama Mohamed founded Peaceful in 2021, but the brand blew up almost immediately due to Salama’s already-found success as an Emirati influencer and social media personality.
What makes Peacful stand out is that Salama launched this Korean skincare brand, taking into consideration the weather and skin sensitivities specific to the Middle East.
Her inspiration behind this brand was her own skin struggles due to being a woman with vitiligo and sensitive skin having to endure the region’s harsh weather. She wanted to create an inclusive skin-care line that adapted well to the UAE’s weather, and that she did.
5. Human and Beings

Human and Beings was founded on the power of friendship between Emirati women. Hamda Abbas, Zainab Al Shaikh, and Mariam Al Khan opened a unique store and were able to run a successful business together as three strong-willed women.
This store offers a hand-picked selection of footwear, accessories, homeware, beauty products, and clothes from around the world. To strengthen your friendship bond, I suggest you take your bestie to City Walk on a shopping spree for unique items at a store owned by best friends.
All these businesses share a common theme of sustainability, which aligns with the vision set for the future of the UAE. These women and many more play a vital role in building the future of this great nation.
As a company with roots in Dubai, we at V Perfumes are excited to witness the future in which we have the pleasure of witnessing the women of this country grow and prosper. We wish every Emirati woman a happy Emirati Women’s Day. May we see you be the greatest version of yourself this year and every other year.
