Ever since the release of the original Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana, the brand has launched a floral flanker of the fragrance annually. This means we have 10 versions of Dolce currently out, and one new one coming out in April at the beginning of spring, which will be excluded from this article.
The Dolce version that is set to launch in April is a magnolia fragrance; you can read more about it in my 2026 Fragrance Releases to Get Excited For article. That being said, let’s take a look at the Dolce florals that have bloomed so far.
1. D&G Dolce EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral
Top Notes: Neroli, Papaya Flower
Middle Notes: White Amaryllis, Narcissus, White Water Lily
Base Notes: Musk, Cashmeran
Release Year: 2014
Perfumer: Jean-Marc Chaillan and Laurent Le Guernec
Dolce represents an emotional and sensual journey through Sicily. Like most of the scents on this list, the original Dolce is a perfect spring scent, but I would say that some would be considered versatile as well. This fragrance is characterised by its light floral heart, which stands out, resulting in an easy-to-wear, soft aroma.
2. D&G Dolce Floral Drops EDT

Fragrance Family: Floral
Top Notes: Neroli, Papaya Flower, Apple, Peach
Middle Notes: Water Lily, Amaryllis, Narcissus
Base Notes: Musk, Cashmere Wood, Sandalwood
Release Year: 2015
Perfumer: Jean-Marc Chaillan and Laurent Le Guernec
Floral Drops takes the DNA of the original and gives it a much crispier, dewy finish. It stands out as the most refreshing member of the family; while the original is soft, this one feels like a garden early in the morning when the flowers are still covered in mist. It is noticeably lighter and more aquatic, making it the best choice for those who want a barely-there scent.
3. D&G Dolce Rosa Excelsa EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral
Top Notes: Neroli, Papaya Flower
Middle Notes: Turkish Rose, African Dog Rose, Amaryllis, Narcissus, Water Lily
Base Notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Cashmere Wood
Release Year: 2016
Perfumer: In-house Perfumer
While the earlier versions focused on white florals, Rosa Excelsa was the first to experiment with roses. What makes this one special is its use of two different rose species: African Dog Rose and Turkish Rose, which gives it a more classic, romantic personality. It is less fruity than the later releases and much more about the elegance of a traditional rose note.
4. D&G Dolce Garden EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity Gourmand
Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Magnolia, Neroli
Middle Notes: Ylang-Ylang, Coconut, Frangipani
Base Notes: Vanilla Absolute, Almond Milk, Sandalwood
Release Year: 2018
Perfumer: Violaine Collas
Garden is a total departure from the rest of the line and easily the most unique. It stands out because it leans into gourmand territory, featuring a creamy, tropical blend of coconut, almond milk, and vanilla. If the other flankers feel like fresh bouquets, Garden feels like a sun-drenched tropical vacation. It is much sweeter and denser than any of its sisters.
5. D&G Dolce Peony EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Nashi Pear, Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Cyclamen
Middle Notes: Pink Peony, Bulgarian Rose, Freesia
Base Notes: Honey, Ambroxan, Patchouli
Release Year: 2019
Perfumer: Christophe Raynaud
Peony is all about brightness and cheerful energy. It distinguishes itself through a unique sweet-and-spice contrast, pairing a juicy nashi pear with a hint of pink pepper and a honeyed base. While the other scents are often sheer, Peony has a colourful, vibrant sweetness that feels a bit more modern and bubbly than the earlier white floral versions.
6. D&G Dolce Shine EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Mango, Quince, Grapefruit
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Tuberose, Solar Notes, Sea Salt
Base Notes: White Musk, White Woods, Australian Sandalwood
Release Year: 2020
Perfumer: Marie Salamagne
Shine is bottled sunshine. It stands out from the other flankers because of its prominent solar notes and a juicy mango top note. While many Dolce scents are strictly floral, Shine has a beachy, Mediterranean feel that makes it lean more toward a tropical fruit fragrance. It is the most luminous and yellow-smelling scent in the entire collection.
7. D&G Dolce Rose EDT

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Red Currant, Green Apple, Mandarin Orange
Middle Notes: Rose, May Rose, White Peach, Magnolia
Base Notes: Musk, White Wood, Sandalwood
Release Year: 2021
Perfumer: In-house Perfumer
Not to be confused with Rosa Excelsa, Dolce Rose is a much more playful and tangy take on the flower. It stands out due to the addition of red currant and crisp green apple, which give the rose a mouth-watering, zesty quality. It’s not as elegant and romantic as Rosa Excelsa and is more energetic, making it a perfect casual daytime scent for someone who wants a rose with a bit of a bite.
8. D&G Dolce Lily EDT

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Passionfruit, Bergamot, Lemon
Middle Notes: Pink Lily, Rose
Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla, Sandalwood
Release Year: 2022
Perfumer: Natalie Cetto and Nisrine Grillié
Lily brings an exotic, tropical twist to the collection that we haven’t seen in the other flankers. What makes it special is the passionfruit note, which gives the pink lily a tart edge. It is arguably the most youthful and flirty scent in the collection, standing out for its vibrant fruitiness rather than a traditional powdery floral aroma. Dolce Lily is the perfect first date fragrance.
9. D&G Dolce Violet EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Cassis, Cyclamen, Mandarin Orange
Middle Notes: Violet, Blackcurrant, Pear
Base Notes: Musk, Madagascar Vanilla, Sandalwood
Release Year: 2023
Perfumer: Emilie Bevierre-Coppermann
Violet is a modern, trendy addition that moves away from the typical pink and white florals. It stands out for its balance of powdery violet and deep blackcurrant. While the other flankers are very bright and sunny, Violet has a slightly cool-toned vibe. It’s the perfect choice for someone who wants a floral scent that feels a bit more chic.
10. D&G Dolce Blue Jasmine EDP

Fragrance Family: Floral Fruity
Top Notes: Sicilian Blue Fig
Middle Notes: Jasmine Sambac
Base Notes: Cedarwood
Release Year: 2024
Perfumer: Alexandra Carlin
Blue Jasmine is the most minimalist and refined of the newer releases. It avoids the sugar of the previous few flankers, focusing instead on a beautiful Sicilian blue fig note. This gives it a slightly earthy, milky sweetness that perfectly balances the jasmine. It feels more tranquil compared to the high-energy fruitiness of Lily or Shine.
