Proposing to a perfume enthusiast? Looking for rings and stressing over the cut and carats and the thickness of the band and how clean the gemstone should be– should you get a colored gemstone or go for the timeless diamond.
Dior may have made the choice for you.
Dior’s iconic J’Adore in its L’Or flanker has found a new, limited-edition luxurious home in a bottle encrusted with gold and diamonds. Before we get into the splendor of the bottle itself, let’s have a look at what’s inside:

J’Adore L’Or Essence de Parfum is a gorgeous feminine floral fragrance, pleasant in its freshness and rich in its opulent white florals. On creating the flanker, Francis Kurkdjian spoke of moving from the aura of J’Adore to its gold. The aim was to bring out the nuances of the floral ideals of J’Adore to define it anew in a golden aura. The cap reflects this, flowing waves of golden shine reflecting the light in a soft yet bold way to convey the texture of the fragrance within.
A fragrance so golden can only be elevated by being housed in actual gold and diamonds. This new bottle joins Dior’s ‘Exceptional Pieces’, works of art made in collaboration with master artisans who reinterpret their fragrances as limited collector edition flacons:

Bobby: Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet in a bottle shaped after Christian Dior’s four legged friend Bobby. He came with a medallion engraved with the words ‘J’Apartiens Miss Dior’ (I belong to Miss Dior) and a bow– how could a Miss Dior not have a bow? – decorated with beautiful florals around his neck.

Sauvage by the House of Baccarat: The #1 men’s fragrance of our times housed in a fine French Baccarat crystal bottle. The rare 200 pieces made are brought to you in a case made of dark solid oak.

L’Or de J’Adore: This is a collaboration with Jean-Michel Othoniel. Inspired by nature’s architecture of perfumers’ darling rose, the artist created petals of golden beads to surround the bottle the way the aroma of a rose creates a delicate scent bubble around you.

Even considering recency bias, J’Adore Diamonds of Dreams is the best of Dior’s Exceptional Pieces. Alright, second best– Bobby will always be the best.

The 2.2-carat briolette-cut diamond is set in a clear glass topper that rests at the top of the J’Adore bottle. The briolette cut was chosen for its droplet-like shape, its 231 facets boasting its brilliance as it sparkles when light grazes it through glass. While most diamond cuts are designed to sit surrounded by precious metal, one side hidden by the wearer’s skin, the briolette cut is one of the rare few made to be seen from all around. When everyone else has a brilliant cut or princess cut, or the now dime-a-dozen oval cut, your beloved will have a briolette.

The grandeur doesn’t end with the 2.2-carat diamond on top. A line of diamonds go down the rest of the stopper, adorning the necklace of golden pearls that wrap around the neck. It mirrors the gold beads of the choker Rihanna sported in the J’Adore advertisement. Doesn’t get more luxurious than that. Together with the line of smaller diamonds, the bottle boasts a total of 5 carats of diamonds.

The golden beads are made of brass through the traditional lost wax casting technique and plated in 18 carat gold.
While the regular J’Adore L’Or comes in a 50ml bottle and an 80ml refill bottle, the Diamonds of Dreams is a 200ml bottle you can enjoy for years to come. We often see people find their grandma’s bottle of Chanel No. 5, a treasure to have after reformulations and industry changes. It isn’t just jewelry or leather bags that can be passed down. Any bottle of perfume will eventually deplete, but when a bottle is made so beautifully, it is a keepsake you can pass on to your family as a reminder of a special occasion– possibly a wedding. You’ll spare her the hassle of finding the perfect bridal fragrance.
You would have to hurry to get this €15,000 bottle because Dior has only made five of them. To buy one, you can express your interest and get a callback from a Dior consultant to learn more.
