The original Libre EDP is favored by many, but this list is arranged by date of launch, not by which one is the best. That will be up to you to decide.
What makes the original EDP stand out is that it is the most versatile, wearable all year round, and suitable for any occasion. It also layers well with other scents. The fragrance makes the wearer feel confident and put together.

Libre Intense is more white floral and lavender-heavy than other versions. It might come off as too sweet and strong to some, but you will love it if that’s up your alley.
While it might be inappropriate for daily or office wear, Libre Intense is perfect for a girls’ night out. Libre Intense is described as Libre, but more: more sexy, complex, and deep. It’s suited for a woman who enjoys dressing up, socializing, and going out to clubs, restaurants, and bars.
3. Yves Saint Laurent Libre Le Parfum

Libre Le Parfum initially has spicy notes, which might be appealing to some. The fragrance is reminiscent of chai lattes, with a spicy opening, warm and cozy middle, and sweet finish. Like most Libre fragrances, it has great longevity, lasting all day with just two sprays, and is perfect for fall and winter, but also wearable year-round as a confidence booster.
The scent is described as stronger and spicier than other Libre versions, making it ideal for evening wear or date nights. The honey, ginger, and tonka bean base creates a rich, deep, and complex fragrance that is sweet without being overpowering.
4. Yves Saint Laurent Libre L’Absolu Platine Parfum

L’absolu Platine has a completely different approach from the other versions of Libre. It is a highly concentrated floral fragrance featuring orange blossom, musk, and a subtle lavender note.
The high concentration ensures a strong, long-lasting scent. The lavender here, unlike in the other versions, remains a delicate herbal undertone. While the creamy, orange blossom, and musky scents dominate.
5. YSL Libre Flowers & Flames EDP

Highlights | Details |
---|---|
Brand | Yves Saint Laurent |
Best for | Women |
Fragrance Family | Floral |
Notes | Top: Lavender and Bergamot Middle: Orange Blossom, Lavender, Coconut, Lily, and Palm Tree Base: Vanilla |
Release year | 2024 |
Longevity | Over 8 hours |
Projection | Moderate |
Perfumer | Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm |
I tried Libre Flowers & Flames without knowing the notes beforehand, expecting a familiar Libre opening. However, it did not open with the fresh orange blossom notes typical of the other Libre versions. Instead, it starts with a prominent lily note, giving it a powdery, white floral opening.
Alongside the signature lavender accord shared with other Libre fragrances, Flowers & Flames also features orange blossom absolute and coconut, earning it the description of a solar floral scent. The base features vanilla, making it slightly sweeter than the original Libre, but less sweet compared to Libre Intense and Libre Le Parfum.
