Full disclaimer, this is a banana perfume being reviewed by a certified banana hater. Is it a bad fragrance by any means? No. It’s quite pleasant. Is it for me? No. I will be getting more into the details of what makes this fragrance good and what I personally like and dislike about it in this article.

Banana Rush is an amber vanilla fragrance launched in 2026. The composition opens with a heavy hit of maple syrup and banana, followed by a heart of coconut and frangipani, all resting on a smooth base of vanilla and sandalwood.

My Experience

What I liked about this fragrance is that it doesn’t smell like straight-up ripe bananas, the kind that usually makes me turn away. Instead, it has a beautifully sweet, caramelised banana scent. The maple syrup in the top notes gives it a toasted, sugary quality that makes the fruit feel more like a sophisticated dessert than a piece of produce.

Despite how pleasant it is, my personal bias remains. Because I genuinely don’t like bananas, I find that I have to be in a very specific, rare mood to enjoy wearing this. It isn’t a reach-for-every-day scent for me, but I can respect the creativity behind it.

The Verdict:

If you are a gourmand lover who actually enjoys the note of banana, you will likely fall in love with this. It is the perfect summer gourmand; the addition of coconut and frangipani gives it a tropical, solar aroma that feels airy enough for warm weather, rather than being cloyingly heavy.
