From Kent to the Laboratory
Born and raised in Kent, in the south of England, Turner’s early memories were shaped by nature. She discovered her profound love for scent by exploring the region’s sun-dappled wildflowers, developing a love for the sweet aromas of honeysuckle and lilac.
Despite this early connection to nature, she did not initially set out to be a nose. Turner was studying dentistry and medicine when she took a temporary summer job at the fragrance company Quest (now Givaudan) during a break from her studies. It was a happy accident. Though it took courage and conviction to abandon her medical academic path, her newfound passion took over, and she never looked back. Her core motivation remains the same through it all: “What motivates me most is the creative process itself, in all its fascinating and mysterious complexity,” she explains. “For me, perfume is an invitation to reflect on beauty.”
Drawing inspiration from childhood memories, global travels, art, music, and food, her brilliant trajectory continues to rise. In 2025, the historic French perfume house Caron, founded over 120 years ago, proudly entrusted her with its future creations.
