Lattafa is launching a flanker of one of their best fragrances, Angham, which is set to release on the 2nd of February, 2026. Angham Second Son doesn’t seem to be modelled after the DNA of the original; therefore, I don’t understand why it had to be a flanker. Many are speculating that it is actually a dupe of My Devotion, which is a nice scent, sure, but does happen to be, in my humble opinion, an underwhelming, borderline generic perfume.
Hopefully, I’m wrong, and this fragrance ends up being much better than it looks, but I do stand by the point that it should have been its own perfume rather than a flanker of Angham, relying on the popularity of that fragrance. Anyway, let’s take a closer look at the latest Lattafa Angham Second Song.

Let’s uncover each layer of Angahm Seond Son and see what each holds. It opens with a pear blossom note, which is a delicate, airy, and slightly sweet floral note that captures the fresh scent of spring orchards. This note is accompanied by a complex citrus, aromatic, and slightly spicy bergamot note.
The heart comprises the sweetest flower note, orange blossom, along with praline and peony. Praline is a rich, gourmand note that mimics the scent of caramelised nuts, while peony is a fresh, romantic, and soft floral note.
At the base, we have a clean, creamy ambroxan note and a warm, sweet vanilla note, heightened by a complex tonka note. Tonka is often described as a blend of vanilla, almond, caramel, and tobacco, providing extra sweetness and warmth to the fragrance. Lastly, the base features a musk note, a foundational base note which is warm, sensual, and powdery, or a slightly animalistic scent that fixes other notes.
In Comparison to My Devotion

Compared to My Devotion, Angham Second Song appears to carry more depth and warmth, looking at the notes alone. The sweet, complex praline note here is missing from the other, which is probably why My Devotion comes off as slightly bland. While I originally stated that I might like My Devotion due to its simplicity, it’s still, unfortunately, lacking something. Maybe I would have liked it more if the vanilla was more prominent, or if praline was introduced to the mix.
Back to Second Song, I’m not really sure that it would be similar to My Devotion; it looks like it could be better regardless of the similarities. The original Angham is a wonderful fragrance. Second Son could either be a great addition to the line or a horrible mistake. I guess I’ll have to wait to try it and see.
